Introduction of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana

Indian society is quite complex and there is differentiation and discrimination towards girls & women based on female feticide, sex ratio, child marriage, and negative mindset. To end the inequalities and discrimination Govt of UP introduced the Yojana.

This scheme is undertaken by the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt of Uttar Pradesh. It was launched on 25th October 2019.

Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana provides financial support to girls who are studying and this will help them to develop themselves and get opportunities for higher education so that they stand on their own feet and support themselves.

Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana

The family of the beneficiary must be a resident of UP resident and should have proof of residence of

  1. under the same  address in Ration Card/ Voter Card/ Aadhaar Card/ Current bill/ telephone bill
  2. Maximum of two girls from a family will be entitled for the scheme
  3. Family income should not exceed 3Lakhs per annum
  4. Family must have a maximum of two children
  5. If the woman delivers twins babies in second delivery then third girl child will also be eligible and has a girl child in the first delivery on then it will be eligible
  6. If a family has adopted a girl child then maximum of only two girls will be eligible for this scheme

Implementation Stages of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana

Stage1: One-time payment of Rs 2000 for a girl child born on or after 1st April 2019

Stage2: Girl child is not born before 1st April 2018 will get a Rs 1000 as one-time payment and age         should be less than 2 years

Stage3: Girl child is enrolled in 1st Standard this academic year and age is greater than or equal to 3 years will get Rs 2000 as a onetime payment

Stage4: Girl child is enrolled in 6st Standard this academic year and age is greater than or equal to 7 years will get Rs 2000 as a onetime payment

Stage5: Girl child is enrolled in 9st Standard this academic year and age is greater than or equal to 10 years will get Rs 3000 as a onetime payment

Stage6: Girl child who has passed 10th or 12th Standard and enrolled into two years of diploma course or graduate course in the current academic year will be entitled to Rs 5000 and age should be greater or equal to 12 years.

How to apply for Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and the Steps for applying?

  1. Applicant must first register him/her on the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana portal ,

Once you register you will get a 13 digit applicant id (e.g. WUYYDDnnnnnnn)

  • Applicant must add the beneficiary or the girl child who is supposed to receive the benefits, this is a 14 digit number
  • Applicant must fill in the application based on the criteria under which they are applying and it is a 12 digit code like YYDDFnnnnnnn

The uniqueness of the beneficiary on the web portal

  • Bank details should be of mothers but if she doesn’t have then father bank account number should be mentioned
  • If mother or father is not live and guardian is the applicant then bank details of the guardian is necessary
  • If the girl child is adult then she can apply herself and her bank details can be used

  • Address Proof
  • Voters card
  • Identity proof
  • Bank A.c no and Passbook scan copy of the Father/mother/guardian/herself depending on the applicant
  • Death Certificate if father or mother is not alive

  • Latest photo of the girld child
  • Family photo
  • Affidavit certificate

  • Aadhaar card scan copy

Validations done under Stage3:

  • The Girl child should be 3+ years
  • Application should be done within 31st July (same financial year) or within 45 days of last date of admission (whichever is later)

Documents under Stage4

“Girl child is enrolled in 6st Standard this academic year and age is greater than or equal to 7 years will get Rs 2000 as onetime payment”

Documents:

  • Admission certificate of 6st standard
  • Photo of the girl with family and applicant
  • Latest photo the girl child
  • Affidavit certificate
  • Aadhaar card scan copy

Validations done under Stage4:

  • Age of the child should 7+ years
  • Application should be done within 31st July (same financial year) or within 45 days of last date of admission (whichever is later)

Documents under Stage5

“Girl child is enrolled in 9st Standard this academic year and age is greater than or equal to 10 years will get Rs 3000 as onetime payment”

Documents:

  • Admission certificate of 9st standard
  • Photo of the girl with family and applicant
  • Latest photo the girl child
  • Affidavit certificate
  • Aadhaar card scan copy

Validations done under Stage5:

  • Age of the child should be 10+ years
  • Application should be filed within 30 September same financial year or within 45 days of last date of registration whichever is later.

Documents under Stage6

“Girl child who has passed 10th or 12th Standard and enrolled into two years of diploma course or graduate course in the current academic year will be entitled to Rs 5000 and age should be greater or equal to 12 years.”

  • Admission fee receipt of Degree or Diploma course
  • 10th or 12th Mark Sheet
  • Institution or the College ID
  • Photo of the girl with family and applicant
  • Latest photo the girl child
  • Affidavit certificate
  • Aadhaar card scan copy

Validations done under Stage5:

  • Age of the child should be 12+ years
  • Application should be filed within 30 September same financial year or within 45 days of last date of registration whichever is later.
